History of Turkish and Azeri Turkish language
The root of these two languages is the same. The difference is mostly in the accent. In ancient times, these two languages had more similarities; But after the end of the Ottoman Empire, differences between Istanbul and Azeri languages appeared. Also, in the past, Istanbul Turkish was called Ottoman Turkish. In 1928, at the same time as the language movement, the Turkish language underwent many changes and original Turkish terms and words took the place of Arabic and Persian words. Over time, both Turkish and Azeri languages underwent changes and many words were added to both languages.

The letters "kh" and "q" are not seen in Istanbul Turkish. The number of letters of the Turkish-Istanbul alphabet is 29 letters and Turkish-Azeri is 32 letters.
